So, I know this is late.. But just to stir the pot a little bit. There are some who would claim the opposite of how this add says sports transcends racism and sexism.

Here is an article about sexism in sports. It is pretty generic but I thought it was good.

And in terms of racism...there are stereotypes fueled by sports that many people would consider racist. Examples being, the naturally athletic black compared to the hardworking and disciplined white athlete. I think sports stereotypes reflect more broad and underlying stereotypes held about certain races. Native American groups have long tried to change the symbols and name of the Cleveland Indians, Washington Redskins, and even KC Chiefs because they don't want their culture and race to be made fun of or to be used as a mascot.

In the bigger picture, playing sports is different than the business of sports. Maybe what I am talking about is more prevalent in the business of sports.
