Orange vs Yellow: Richard vs Jared Rubber Match

There are a few things that you can count on here at Union College.  Dr. Gibson is always going to tell you to put away your periodicals before a quiz.  Pastor Rich is going to break down the word "Shabat" every Friday night.  There will always be a naked old person in the bathroom at the Larson Lifestyle Center (I'm serious about that, even when they close it down they pay an old naked person to just hang out in there). And Jared and Richard's squad will always face off in the Championship game in intramurals.  It's starting to get kind of boring.  Two years ago Richard's squad won when Jared missed a three pointer at the buzzer.  Richard had Jason Odenthal doing the heavy lifting that year.  Last year Jared's team was the victor.  Edgar was doing the grunt work for that squad.  And tomorrow they meet again for the tie breaker.
Now let's review how both of these teams got here.  If you remember the Pre Season Power Rankings you will recall that there was quite the controversy over where the teams were ranked.  But the dust has settled and it seems like the top two teams when those P Rankings first came out are the only two teams that are alive today.  Let's start with Yellow.  A rough start out of the gate has never stopped Jared and his squad.  This team has played together and with focus all season.  It is no secret how Yellow wins games.  Jared balls people up.  His clever array of moves and three pointers has given teams fits.  Tonight in the semifinals he willed his team to win in the last minute.  Maroon has only lost to one team this year.  But Yellow beat them when it counted the most.  If you are wondering if anyone saw this coming please look here.  This team is good because they all know their roles and they play within themselves and as a team.  Michael has been cleaning up the glass and Drew has been a consistent second scorer.  They played a great game tonight and I think they will be ready to go.
Orange has had its fair share of bumps in the road.  And by bumps I mean haters not allowing Micah Robinson to be at all of the games.  Last week Micah missed two games and it didn't surprise anyone when Orange went down in both games.  After Orange's performance tonight against Gray all of last week's struggles seem to have taken place a long time ago.  Tonight Orange came out with urgency and toughness.  They took hold of the game from the beginning and never gave it up.  Richard Young is notorious for taking ill advised difficult shots.  Tonight he didn't even have a field goal and his team won going away.  That is how well Orange was clicking.  Orange's strength is that there isn't one player that you can key in on to stop them.  You have to play D on their whole line up.  Every single player in there starting line up has scored over 15 points in a game this year.
The team that will win this game will be the team that stops the other team from playing their game.  In Yellow's case they need Jared to get hot early and stay hot throughout the game.  Drew and Michael need to hit timely shots.  They need to be able to stop Orange from getting the shots that they want.  In Orange's case they need to contain Jared and still be able to play good D on the rest of the team.  Also they need to get out in transition and get easy baskets.  I can't wait to see this game and if you are not in the Thunderdome at 5:30 then you better be doing something way awesome instead.

This just in:  Natalie Young might be making an appearance in the Thunderdome for the game.  That makes one wife cameo this season for the Orange team.  If you look back at the pre season I put the over/under wife cameo at 3.  As you know I took the under.
