Yellow beats Orange. Jared is beating Richard in every part of his life.

Before Michael Jordan won his first championship he had to beat Isaiah Thomas and the Detroit Pistons.  Why do I bring this up?  I don't know.  I just figured it is a good way to start a column about Union College basketball intramurals. The games are over and Yellow is the champions once again.  Jared is the King of basketball intramurals here in College View.  His teams are the San Antonio Spurs of intramurals.  His game is alot like Manu Ginobli's.  Unorthodox as a mug but the ball goes in.
Tonight the fans that packed the Thunderdome witnessed a hard fought game.  Yellow and Orange duked it out in a tough physical basketball battle.  Orange started out well but from the beginning of the game you could see that their shots weren't falling as easy as they were last night.  Yellow played tough man to man D.  Orange was forced to take some tough shots and they made a few but the field goal percentage overall was not good.  Jared had much better vision in this game then in the last time he played Orange.  When he was doubled he was able to find a streaking Drew or Michael for layups.  At halftime Yellow was sitting pretty comfortably with a 7 point lead.
The second half was played equally as tough.  Richard was able to get some drives to the basket and the Orange's D was getting stops.  Sean Lawson hit a three to tie it up with 2 minutes left in the game.  After that Yellow didn't miss a shot and Orange's fatigue seemed to catch up to them.  In crunch time Yellow stepped up and Orange couldn't answer.  If you want to see how the teams rank check the first power rankings (I'm tight).  Now that we got the story out of the way here come some bullet points.

• I want to tip my hat to Yellow but let's face it...If Daniel Cress would have been in the house Orange would have blown Yellow out.  Daniel plays for keeps.
• After the game I went to Red Robin and ate a nasty meat sandwich and then I went to Culver's for some milk products.  Now not only am I bummed that we lost, I also feel terrible.
• After the game as Orange was gathered in the corner talking about the game I asked Thomas if he was tired.  His reply was "no i'm not tired...i'm tired as a mug!"  Except he didn't use the word mug.
• If you are reading this and your name isn't Drew or Stephanie then I love you and appreciate you reading this garbage.
• I'm kind of glad that we lost.  Now I can focus all of my energies on the NCAA tournament.
• Hey!  At least it wasn't as bad as last year #amiright
• Michael Paradise and I were the two oldest people in the league this year.  Actually we were the only non Union students that played in intramurals.  Is that weird?  Should we retire?  Hold up...................am I old?
• Jokes on Greg Steiner.  I didn't wash my Orange Jersey all season long.  HAHA
• My wife hasn't seen me play in six years.  She was wondering why I am alot slower now.  "Babe you used to get to the basket whenever you wanted...why don't you try that now?"
• At least we beat Gray.
