I just finished reading the book "Manhunt" by James Swanson. It was the very exciting story of John Wilkes Booth escape into Maryland and the search for him after he assassinated Abraham Lincoln at Ford's Theater. It took the Union army 12 days to finally track him down. While I was reading the book I started feeling a little sad for Booth. It seems like people have forgiven Booth for what he did. He wanted fame and glory so bad and I think that he achieved it. During his escape he spent five nights lying on the ground with a broken leg in the forest. He was in extreme pain. I really believe that he thought that he had done the right thing. Excellent book if you like history.
